Quiche & Crumble

Zoe made a lovely Quiche Lorraine this evening:

"Recipe:

There are many different variations of the quiche, tonight I just made one with a few things lurking in the fridge:

  • Ready Made pastry case (These are really great and far less hassle than making your own)
  • 6 Rashes of lean bacon chopped into small pieces
  • 1/4 of an onion (i used red as didnt have white ones)
  • small tub of double cream and dash of milk (you can use all milk if you prefer, about 200ml)
  • Grated cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • Seasoning
Mix all ingredients together and pour into pastry case and bake until set - 30 mins or so."

She also made some tasty individual crumbles:

Lovely! Might have a go at that myself... Out of interest though, what sort of pastry did you use for the quiche?

Hi Chris!
Well i usually use fresh pastry cases (uncooked) they sell them usually next to the butter and marg in the supermarkets - you want to go for the savoury pastry case.

Cool. For some reason I thought pastry cases came in different varieties, i.e. short crust, puff, etc.

Right then, excellent. I'm definitely trying that out! Thanks for the inspiration and idea!

(P.S. The crumble comes later...) :)
